Shaji T. George, Ph.D. (President and Chief Scientific Officer)
Dr. Shaji T. George graduated with PhD from CMC Vellore; where he was awarded Sir C.V Raman Gold Medal in Research excellence by the University of Madras. He was Jr Faculty then an Adj. Faculty at the prestigious Rockefeller University in New York, Vice President of Research and Development at Innovir Laboratories Inc., a New York City-based mid-size biotechnology company that was co-founded by Prof. Sidney Altman (Nobel Laureate), based on his Nobel Prize winning discovery of ribozymes. He also co-founded Bionova Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a New York City-based biotechnology company focused on developing novel diagnostic tests and therapeutics for prostate cancer. Dr George has 38 scientific publications in International journals to his credit. His areas of expertise include, drug discovery and development, in vitro diagnostics development, business development, and intellectual property management. He has 10 issued and 11 pending patents to his credit. He has wide international experience having managed biotech companies in the US, UK, Germany and India. He is a co-founder BioPharm Laboratories and the Director and Chief Scientific Officer, Mir Lifescience Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore – a company he co-founded with the Mir Group of Companies.

A recognized leader known for crafting the requisite strategic vision to achieve business goals, he offers a unique blend of executive acumen, team-building, solution development and operational improvement. As the President of a Financial organization that consistently delivers results by aligning technology initiatives with business goals, with substantial improvement in service delivery, standardization, and business/system performance. With a focus on strategic solutions analysis to further business goals, he also shepherded cost accounting improvements that brought a new perspective on the relative success of business management practices and capital expenditures.
